Last Beacon Standing

Humor is one of the tools in the toolbox of both the speaker and the interpersonal communicator, but it's rarely studied in any detail in the Communication classroom. That's unfortunate, because there's a fair amount of scholarly work that yields some important insights, and there are also important Biblical teachings about being deliberate and careful with humor. So, this term I taught a special topics class, "Humor and Stand Up Comedy," and the culmination is a showcase this Friday night.
